What to Expect the Day of Treatment Before you try and schedule your first treatment with us, you probably have some questions, such as: How long will it take? How long will the results last? Will it hurt? Will I still be able to make facial expressions? Here's what you might expect at the treatment site from the moment you arrive until your procedure is done. The day of your appointment. All patients will first be prequalified through our screening questionnaire and reviewed by the Physician or Nurse Practitioner prior to the treatment. Allow time before your appointment for relaxing, completing forms and for consulting with the staff. You may first meet with the doctor personally or one of our certified BOTOX® physician assistants or nurse practitioners, who can answer many of your questions and prepare you for your treatment. Because cosmetic surgery is not the right choice for everyone, a clinic consultation is necessary to evaluate specific needs and goals.

Realistic Expectations
If you have realistic expectations and good overall health, you may be an excellent candidate for all of our services. Our process can have a substantial impact on your appearance, but it can't change your whole life. If you believe that cosmetic surgery is the answer to other life problems, you are not likely to be satisfied. Consultation with our trained staff can put you at ease and explain benefits and risks. If this is a carefully planned step towards improving your appearance and taking care of yourself then wrinkle reduction may be right for you.

General Health
We are very concerned about your safety and that your procedure is brief and uneventful. It is necessary that you provide us with a complete medical history. Our fully credentialed surgicenter and board certified physician anesthesiologists provide excellent care with overnight capability . Being in a state of good health prior to treatment will reduce your risk of complications.

The My Medi Spa has developed strategies to make your experience more pleasant, efficient and cost effective than a trip to a medical clinic. We have worked in partnership with spas to provide a soothing environment and with our doctors and physician assistants to provide quality care with a special touch. Not every patient is a good candidate for spa treatment. If there is come concern we will provide a connection with a medical clinic for you.

Your Treatment
After evaluation, our BOTOX® certified physician assistant may see you at your spa appointment and apply a numbing cream to the areas and after a few minutes then deliver the treatment. Generally, there is mild discomfort and the treatment only takes a moment. Afterwards, you can check out and resume your daily activities, except exercise.

Financial Responsibility
After your treatment you may pay according to your spa. Treatment costs may vary according to your needs.

Plastic Surgery Price Ranges For Dr Mentz Medi Spa

Our costs are in the middle range for Houston area plastic surgeons and include doctor's fees, anesthesiologist's fees and our state of the art certified surgical facility fees.

The prices below vary, depending on how long you will be in the certified surgical facility. The doctor would need to see you to give you the exact cost. Your cost may actually be more or less than what you see here. This is a ballpark range only. There is a price reduction for more than one surgery done at the same time.

Radiesse® - for facial folds and lines, often lasts 1 to 3 years	$900-1200 per syringe

Nasal Surgery

Rhinoplasty or nasal reshaping is a common procedure done by Dr. Mentz. Since his triple board certification, facial plastic surgery has been an important part of his practice. The removal of a large nasal hump or the narrowing of the nostrils can improve the look and shape of your nose. This may be done in conjunction with other rhinoplasty procedures to create the desired appearance. Your surgeon will evaluate the structure of your nose and face and discuss in detail your appearance expectations. Facial balance is important.

Computer imaging with Dr. Mentz will help you determine the size and shape of your nose. Factors that influence the final results include the structure of your nasal bones and cartilage, the shape of your face the thickness of your skin and your age. Cosmetic nose surgery may be performed on female patients as young as 15 or males as young as 17. However, Dr. Mentz will need to make this determination. Depending upon the procedures performed, a splint may be applied to the nose to help maintain its shape. Dr. Mentz does not use packing inside the nose to improve recovery comfort. Soft plastic splints may be placed on the outside of the nose to stabilize the nasal bones are removed in 5-7 days.

The surgery can be performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete. Following surgery, patients should plan on staying in bed with the head elevated for the first few days.

After your procedure Dr. Mentz may offer a complimentary visit to your home by a plastic surgery nurse, trained to assist in your recovery. Most patients can return to dailyl activities within 7-10 days following surgery. Exercise and other strenuous activities may be resumed in about two weeks. It is important to avoid hitting or rubbing the nose for approximately eight weeks. Exposure to the sun should be limited for the two months.

BLEPHAROPLASTY

Do people ask you if you are tired or angry? You may not feel that way, but if you look in the mirror you can see that your droopy eyelids and those bags under your eyes make you look tired and older than you really feel.

Eyelid surgery is called blepharoplasty and is recommended for healthy adults of any age. If droopy eyelids impair your vision, this procedure may be covered by insurance. Incisions are typically made in the creases of your upper eyelids and just below the lashes in your lower eyelids, making scars virtually invisible. After the underlying fat and excess skin are removed, the incisions are closed with fine sutures designed to leave nearly invisible scars. In a Transconjuctival blepharoplasty, the surgeon makes the incision inside the lower eyelid. No skin is removed and the incision is closed with dissolving sutures.

Dr. Mentz will help determine the best procedure for you and advise you on your choices. Eyelid surgery usually takes between one to two hours as an outpatient procedure under general or "twilight" anesthesia. Stitches are removed in less than one week and you can return to work in 5-7 days. Strenuous activities can be resumed in about three weeks. Scarring is usually minimal after three weeks and undetectable in six months. In addition to eyelid surgery, fine lines and light wrinkles can be erased from around your eyes with the CO2 laser procedure. This procedure can be performed as an outpatient with a local or general anesthesia and takes about 1-2 hours. Blepharoplasty, known as eyelid surgery, is a procedure used to remove excess fat deposits above and below the eye. Incisions are usually made in the creases of the upper eyelid and just below the lashes in the lower eyelid leaving a minimal, virtually invisible scar. Most scars are undetectable in six months.

The procedure generally takes about one hour and the patient can begin normal activity such as work within 5-7 days. All other strenuous activities can be resumed in three weeks.
