Rhytidectomy, more commonly known as a face lift, is a procedure that reverses the signs of aging by removing excess fat and tightening underlying muscles, followed by reshaping or the removal of skin on the patient's face and neck. The incisions are hidden and usually begin above the hairline at the temples, extending in a natural line around the ear to the lower scalp. To maximize results, other cosmetic treatments are at times suggested in addition to the facelift.

Facelift

Some of the most visible signs of aging first appear on the face. Although the changes appear gradually, there may come a day when you look in the mirror and decide that the face you see doesn't reflect the way you feel about yourself. We now know that facial aging takes place because of skin laxity combined with soft tissue drooping and some reduction in soft tissue fullness. Today when a facelift is done the skeleton, muscle, soft tissue and skin are all evaluated and a plan for rejuvination is taylored to fit each individual patient based on these measurements and the patients goals.
